Our client is a leading international publisher of science books, journals, reference works and electronic media, with offices all over the world. Based in London, they are seeking a Sales Executive to establish, develop and maintain relationships with existing and potential customers. Working as a Sales Executive your main responsibilities will include: develop long-term relationships with key decision makers; attend international scientific conferences and networking events to develop and maintain the customer base; work with editorial and sales teams to maximise sales potential and develop new publications; meet and exceed quarterly and annual income targets and report on business activities. This is a very interesting role as it would provide you with an opportunity to work closely with internal team and senior management in developing new products as per client requirement. A successful candidate will be degree educated preferably in science but not essential, with outstanding relationship-building skills and ability to communicate with people at all levels. You will demonstrate excellent organisational skills, ability to multitask and have working knowledge of Microsoft Office package. An ideal candidate will have some experience of working on long-term, consultative projects involving sales or negotiations within STM publishing however candidate from academic or educational sales background will also considered. In return the company offers basic salary and OTE along with excellent benefits to their employees. Knowledge of the STM market through previous publishing or sales experience would be an advantage but not essential. Please note that the position is likely to involve national and international travel.
