This is a fantastic opportunity for an ambitious and talented Editor to take your editorial skills to the next level in an award winning publishing house with excellent career progression opportunities. Our client is one of the top music publishers and they are looking for an organised and proactive Senior Editor to join their busy team.

This is a challenging role for someone with plenty of drive and enthusiasm willing to work on a thriving list poised for expansion. You would be responsible for project managing print and digital classroom and instrumental resources ensuring products are delivered according to budget and schedule. Key responsibilities would include; briefing and managing and overseeing freelancers, suppliers and designers, copyediting and proofreading as required, developing projects, identifying, briefing and commissioning authors with the potential to manage your own section of the list.

The successful candidate will have proven editorial and project management experience (ideally within educational schools publishing although candidates with the required skills from other areas in publishing will definitely be considered) and a sound understanding of editorial processes. You must have a demonstrable interest in music and the ability to read music is essential. You will have meticulous attention to detail, excellent communication and organisational skills. You will be a flexible, supportive, effective and committed team player with strong IT skills (experience of using either Sibelius or InDesign would be highly advantageous) and preferably some previous educational or teaching experience.
