If you are a talented and proactive Editor with solid commissioning and new product development experience then this is a great opportunity for you. Our client is a highly reputable and successful publishing house who specialise in educational publishing and they are looking for an Online Commissioning Editor to join their friendly and expanding editorial team producing online tutor and learner support materials across a wide range of qualifications, on a 12 month maternity cover contract, based in central London.

As Online Commissioning Editor you will be responsible for leading the strategic development of the online learning resource for Hair and Beauty Therapy sites, managing the educational learner support products, identifying new digital publishing opportunities and innovations. Key responsibilities will include; completing market research and competitor analysis, spotting new opportunities and defining the products for online publishing which may include web, video, audio, podcasts etc, identifying and commissioning subject matter experts, playing a leading role within the online publishing team in content processes and training, co-manage an editorial assistant and commission, edit and upload content.

The successful candidate will have proven experience in working with educational materials and commissioning content, preferably with experience of developing elearning content too. You should have solid project management skills in both scheduling and budgeting with excellent communication and organisational skills.
