Our client is an innovative, future focused and diverse global organisation, highly reputable within professional publishing and Commissioning Editor to join their busy team, based in London.

As Commissioning Editor, you would be responsible for contributing to the development of the standards programme and managing your own portfolio of standards, ensuring that quality is maintained and schedules and budgets are adhered to. Key responsibilities would include: completing market research and analysis to identify new opportunities and gaps into which standards can be published and then delivering these from idea to schedule, approaching and attracting the best authors and professionals to form focus groups and work with on developing standards, project managing your own portfolio of standards which would also include managing panels and working groups, ensuring they remain motivated and goal focussed and standards adhere to schedule and budget.

The successful candidate will have previous experience in product development within a publishing environment and strong project management skills (Prince2 qualification or the equivalent would be ideal but not essential). You must have excellent communication skills,
familiarity with publishing contracts, a solid understanding of publishing processes and guidelines and the ability to present to others including boards. Experience of using online/content management systems would be highly advantageous and first class organisational skills are a must have.
