Senior Publicity Executive – A leading academic publisher, based on the south coast is looking to appoint a senior Publicity Executive to join their Professional and Trade division. This is an opportunity to take on responsibility for and develop PR for the books on their high profile Consumer lists. The successful candidate will be responsible for planning and implementing publicity campaigns to increase visibility of the company’s products and brands, maximise sales and achieve group objectives. The successful candidate will have a good level of PR experience, and should be able to bring their own media contacts to the position, as well as being prepared to develop new relationships with a broad range of media (print, online, broadcast, social media) in the EMEA region. Much of the role involves co-ordination with the marketing teams, international colleagues, authors and external PR agencies, so you will need to be able to demonstrate confidence in managing these relationships and work well as part of several teams. The ideal candidate will be creative and innovative in their approach to campaigns, and will have excellent verbal and written communication skills. You will be able to prioritise your workload efficiently, and will be proactive and highly organised, with experience balancing multiple tasks, meeting short deadlines and working with changing priorities. You will also be required to travel to meet with media and attend book launches/events on a regular basis.
