A leading technical publisher is looking to appoint a Book and Journal Sales Manager. The purpose of the role is to maximise the sales revenue potential of the company’s primary products (print, CD Rom and Online); to develop and deliver the primary publishing sales and marketing strategy for books and journals and contribute to the commercial success of the company’s products. Main duties and responsibilities include: developing annual plans and budgets for sales and promotions of standards and compliance products, book and journals; manage the presence of the publishing division on the company website; to organise promotional displays and staffing for Book fairs and exhibitions; to manage the company’s network of resellers, library suppliers, distributors and bookshops; to assist in the setting of sales targets and to be part of the company senior management team to provide sales and marketing expertise in strategic planning process and delivery. The successful candidate will have substantial experience within a sales or marketing roles within publishing and will possess specialist knowledge of print and online promotions and marketing processes, especially direct mail, subscription marketing and e-marketing and knowledge of the business to business publishing sector. You will have the ability to understand technical material and excellent communication and project management skills. The role is based in modern Hertfordshire offices easily commutable from Kings Cross or Finsbury Park and comes with a competitive salary and excellent benefits.
