European Sales Executive – A well respected academic publisher, based out of London, is looking to appoint a Sales Executive, Europe in their Academic and Professional Books Sales Department. The successful candidate will be results-focused and self-motivated and will take responsibility for growing sales in the Benelux and Scandinavia region. This exciting and varied role will involve some European travel and will require liaising with editorial and marketing colleagues to identify key new products as well as researching, contacting and visiting academics to drive new textbook adoptions and maintain existing business. You will also be responsible for some trade customers in Belgium and some other specialist accounts across Europe including Scandinavia. Reporting to the International Sales Manager you will be required to report on sales performance, contributing feedback for product development as well as managing the customer database. Exploring and exploiting new sales opportunities is a vital part of the role and you will have plenty of opportunity to demonstrate your entrepreneurial skills. The ideal candidate will be an excellent communicator with strong analytical and organisational skills and the ability to quickly develop sound commercial relationships. Knowledge of a European language is desirable. You will ideally have some sales experience or a genuine appreciation of the publishing and academic environment.
