A specialist educational publisher, based in Reading, is looking to appoint an ELT Editor to join their busy team. The successful candidate will assist in the editorial and project management of individual projects, including liaison with in-house and freelance staff (authors, editors, designers, typesetters etc) to ensure projects are completed to a high standard and within deadlines. Other responsibilities will include proofreading and copy editing manuscripts, monitoring schedules and budgets, and administrative support where appropriate. The Editor will also ensure that electronic files of manuscripts, edited versions and files ready for layout are correctly filed and clearly labelled in the appropriate place on the company server. The successful candidate will be expected to keep up with developments in ELT, and on occasion, to attend book fairs and other promotional events in the UK or abroad. The ideal candidate will have an understanding of ELT publishing and proven editing and project coordination experience within educational publishing. Excellent interpersonal and organisational skills are essential, as is the ability to handle a varied and busy workload. Closing date: 6th August 2010
