Are you an experienced Commissioning Editor looking to take on additional experience as a team manager? Our client has a vacancy for a Commissioning Editor Team Leader who will manage a team of more junior Commissioning Editors in addition to maintaining commissioning responsibility. The Commissioning Editor Team Leader will ensure that the team successfully and effectively delivers the company’s publishing strategy and programme across all subjects, commissioning new print and electronic products and services, and adapting existing products and services across a range of subject areas. The jobholder will also contribute to the development of future publishing strategy. The ideal candidate will be educated to degree level (or equivalent) and be able to demonstrate recent commissioning experience, ideally within educational publishing. Those with a good and wide understanding of the UK and/or International educational markets and associated teaching and learning methods will have an advantage. Practical experience of editorial role within book and electronic publishing, and working knowledge of publishing processes. Applicants will be commercially aware, with experience of budget management and a thorough understanding of publishing processes. Candidates with previous line management experience will have a distinct advantage, as will those with sound knowledge of digital or multimedia products.
