#WorkinPublishing Week 2018

This week is #workinpublishing week, a fantastic initiative run by the Publishers Association to encourage those interested in publishing and those from outside the trade to join our wonderful industry. The campaign has been running for a couple years now and you may have seen their tweets featuring tips and advice from key industry figures, guest blogs and career profiles to provide an inside look into the world of publishing. They have a great line up scheduled for the week, so if you are looking to find out more about publishing and are interested in a career in it, this week is not one to miss!

If you haven’t already, follow the hashtag as there will be lots of interesting news, blogs and events happening next week. Every day this week 12-1pm we will be hosting Q&A’s and tweet ups, here are a few things to look out for from us:

Monday: Join us on Twitter alongside the Publishers Association (@PublishersAssoc) for a Q&A with our Senior Consultant Helen Harradine on Changing your Career to Publishing. #WIPchange

Inspired Selection Talk on Different roles and Sectors available in Publishing at Kingston University, Helen Harradine will be talking to a group of MA students looking to break into the industry in April next year.

Tuesday: On our Temps Desk Junior Consultant Rhiannon Griffiths will be discussing an introduction into temps and temping in this Q&A. #WIPtemp

Wednesday: Consultant Chloe Daniell will be sharing our top tips for your CV and cover letters in an Q&A. #WIPcv

Thursday: If you’re looking for interview advice, our Associate Director Verity Hawson will be talking about all things interviews, prepping, preparing and attending. #WIPinterview

Friday: Associate Director Esme Richardson will be telling you all about the alternatives to trade publishing and what this wonderful industry has to offer. #WIPalt
