
Area Sales Manager - North of England and Scotland

We are thrilled to present an exciting opportunity for an Area Sales Manager to join an award-winning independent children's publisher. In this dynamic role, you will report to the sales manager and enjoy the flexibility of working from home, with travel responsibilities spanning Northern England and Scotland. Your primary focus will be on selling books to independent book sellers and gift accounts, nurturing existing relationships, and cultivating new connections.
Our ideal candidate possesses exceptional sales and business acumen, demonstrating the ability to forge strong relationships and deliver outstanding customer care. A deep understanding of the industry and the territory, coupled with the capability to enhance brand awareness, is crucial for success in this role.
Key Responsibilities and Tasks:
- Take charge of selling to independent booksellers, wholesale, heritage, subscription, and gift accounts across the North of England and Scotland.
- Collaborate with the Distribution team to handle orders and provide information and sales material to customers.
- Work alongside the Publicity team to facilitate author events, tours, and signings tailored to meet customer needs.
- Partner with the Field Sales Manager and Marketing to implement a sales growth strategy across your accounts, including promotional support.
The successful candidate will be someone passionate about children's books, with outstanding sales skills and the ability to effectively present and negotiate. You will excel in managing and prioritising your areas and clients, consistently striving to exceed sales targets.
