Job reference:

Our client, a leading international company that offers content management and transformation solutions to educational publishers globally, has a fantastic opportunity for a highly motivated Editorial Director to join their UK operation. Based in their Reading office (flexible working offered) you will be responsible for the Content Development Services in the ELT market.

Working closely with counterparts based internationally, the Editorial Director will be responsible for overseeing and approving the written content for publication, and identifying, planning, budgeting and executing the development of digital, print and blended ELT educational products. As well as reporting on the strategic direction, the operations, and the financial results of the business activity in the UK, you will also manage, train, and mentor editorial collaborators to see multiple, complex ELT projects through to final delivery stage, on time, to budget to ensure client needs are met. This role will establish solid relationships with existing customers in the ELT business and leverage those relationships to grow the business.

The successful candidate will be a self‐starter with the ability to strategise, problem‐solve, and execute plans in an editorial setting. You will have a background in educational publishing (ideally ELT) and have excellent influencing skills as well as the ability to work effectively in a fast paced, entrepreneurial environment. The ability to interpret creative direction, and a willingness to learn is a must, as is working knowledge of Microsoft Office programs. Familiarity with layout and design programs is preferred but not essential.

The role offers some home-working (at least 2 days/week min. in the office) and the chance to contribute to the long-term success of a global operation.
