Our client, a leading publisher of scientific journals, is looking for an Editorial Assistant to join their small London team. This is a varied and busy role supporting the growth of one journal primarily, along with other ad-hoc duties as needed by the team.
Duties will include:
·Organising board meetings including travel arrangements, circulation of reports, minute taking, following up and processing expenses
·Updating journal website
·Keeping up to date with industry media
·Journal reporting and compiling statistics
·Assistance with peer review process
·Investigating and administrating publication of ethics cases
·Administering journal prizes
The successful candidate will be confident editing online content, as well as using a variety of IT programs, including Microsoft Excel and Adobe InDesign/Photoshop. They will have some administrative experience, including minute taking and meeting preparation, as well as the ability to handle several projects at once. Familiarity with journal editing and the peer review process is helpful, and a demonstrable interest in life sciences is a must!
