A fantastic opportunity has arisen for an Editorial Assistant to join an established educational publisher, based in Birmingham, and work amongst their friendly and supportive team. This role offers great flexibility, and can be done on either a part-time or full-time basis, depending on experience.
The key focus of this Editorial Assistant role is supporting with the publishing of educational resources for teachers of Religious Education in schools, colleges and universities, and also with publications for the Christian community. Amongst other tasks, this exciting and varied role of Editorial Assistant will involve proofreading and checking materials, copy-editing, picture research, drafting AI sheets, preparing contracts for writers and artists, as well as liaising with designer and printers.
As the Editorial Assistant the successful candidate will need to have good written and spoken communication skills, excellent proofreading and attention to detail. The ability to work to deadlines and prioritise your workload are essential. Experience in a publishing or a background in journalism would be an asset, as would an interest in educational materials but this is not essential.
