A new opportunity has come up in the Translation Rights team of a prestigious global academic publisher. They are looking to appoint a Rights Manager to have responsibility of their licensing translation rights for a number of European territories and help optimising revenue, growth and brand awareness. This is a fantastic role for a positive, target-driven sales candidate, who is looking for a step up into a Manager role.

The position will be home-based for now, with a view to work 1 day a week in the Oxford office once it's possible to do so.

Responsibilities:

  • Managing translation rights in allocated territories, making sure to negotiate successful terms for licensing deals and to maximise revenue
  • Building and developing professional relationships with existing and new business partners, keeping in regular contact through calls, meetings, and industry events
  • Developing good market knowledge for allocated countries, understanding local trends, competitors and relevant multicultural factors
  • Investigating issues around rights and licensing, using analytics and publishing knowledge to resolve complex issues
  • Reporting revenue against budget to inform wider departmental strategy

This role will suit someone with a good understanding of licensing and translation rights, and who is eager to progress their career in a busy, high-achieving team of a very well-established academic publisher. Knowledge of another European language is an advantage, but is absolutely not essential for the role.

For a full description of the role, please send your CV with a brief paragraph outlining your relevant skills.

Closing Date: Early applications may be prioritised.
