Designer 2 month FTC

Our client is a world-leading professional institution producing high-quality content that promotes a deeper understanding of global economics and geopolitics. We are currently recruiting a Graphic Designer to join them on a 2 month fixed-term contract, working on a hybrid basis; 3 days a week in their Central London office and 2 days remotely. We're looking for someone available to start early June.
 
This Graphic Designer role has arisen due to an increased volume of work stemming from a number of exciting new projects both within the team and across the wider organisation. They are looking for someone with strong experience in being able to take complex data and turn this into clear, compelling data visualisations in the form of graphs, charts, and infographics which enhance understanding of complex ideas.
 
Equally important are the a editorial layout and design skills, with a meticulous eye for typesetting details including widows, orphans, footnotes, and text flow, primarily using InDesign and Illustrator. These are largely academic and research-based publications, requiring a designer who can combine precision in layout with visual creativity.
 
The ideal candidate will have proven experience in editorial design and typesetting on long-form technical publications, using InDesign and Illustrator as well as proven experience in data visualisation and using Excel data to create graphics, as would a genuine interest in the subject matter.
 
The rate is c.£250 depending on experience per day.
