Our client is a highly successful publisher looking for a creative and commercially minded Commissioning Editor to help develop exciting new children's products for the retail market. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone with children's book publishing experience who enjoys spotting market opportunities, developing new ideas and seeing products progress from concept to publication. The role is ideally suited to someone who enjoys working closely with colleagues in person and is to be office-based in Cumbria.

Must-Haves
·Experience within children's book publishing
·Product development or commissioning experience
·Strong creativity and idea-generation skills
·Commercial awareness and analytical ability
·Full UK driving licence
 
About You
You'll be creative, curious and full of ideas, with a strong understanding of the children's publishing market. You'll enjoy researching trends, identifying gaps in the market and building compelling business cases for new products. You'll also be confident working with a range of stakeholders and comfortable presenting ideas, taking feedback and refining concepts.
 
The Role
Working as part of a small product development team, you'll create and pitch new product ideas, analyse market trends and help shape future publishing programmes. You'll work closely with authors, illustrators and internal editorial, design, digital, sales and marketing teams to bring new concepts to life.
