Inspired Selection is recruiting on behalf of an ambitious independent children's publisher seeking a Commercial Sales Director to shape and deliver its commercial growth strategy.Working closely with the leadership team, you will lead the bookselling strategy, build key trade relationships and identify opportunities to increase sales, visibility and market reach across the UK children's book trade.This is a strategic, part-time role requiring a well-connected publishing professional with strong relationships across retailers, wholesalers, distributors and booksellers.
Key Responsibilities
·Develop and deliver the commercial and bookselling strategy
·Build and strengthen relationships across retailers, wholesalers, distributors and booksellers
·Utilise your network to create introductions, partnerships and new commercial opportunities
·Identify new routes to market and opportunities for growth
·Support initiatives that drive audience engagement and direct-to-consumer sales
·Work closely with external marketing partners to align commercial and audience growth plans
·Provide strategic direction and support to a junior sales and marketing colleague
·Represent the business across the children's publishing and bookselling community
About You
·Strong knowledge of the UK children's publishing and bookselling market
·Established relationships across the book trade
·Experience developing commercial strategies and partnerships
·Strong business development, negotiation and relationship-building skills
·Commercially minded, entrepreneurial and proactive
·Confident operating at a senior level and influencing key stakeholders
