Suzy Astbury Managing Director

I’m Suzy and I’m the Managing Director at Inspired Selection. After university I spent five years working in the publishing industry in rights, sales and marketing roles. I started recruiting for the industry in 2008 and have never looked back. I am a true people person and believe that talented people are central to a company’s success. I use the same methodologies when recruiting for Inspired as for my clients. I’m very proud of Inspired and its people; we all feel privileged to work for the publishing industry and are constantly looking for ways to add value to the services we offer companies and candidates. Donald Smith Deputy Managing Director

I’m Donald and I’m Deputy MD at Inspired Selection. I joined the company in May 2003 having spent 21 years in publishing at senior levels within sales and marketing roles at HarperCollins and Kingfisher Children’s Publishing. I have seen many changes within the industry but what does not change is the need for talented individuals! I have an excellent list of publishing contacts and am always keen to add to this. While working successfully on a wide range of senior and mid-level appointments in both print and digital, I am equally interested in your executive head hunt requirements.  I cannot stress enough the importance of selecting the right talent to join your organisation and I am proud to say that Inspired Selection has an excellent record of success in sourcing this talent.

Tarren Vos Operations Director

My name is Tarren and I have been with Inspired Selection since May 2008, based at the London office. I worked at both Hays and Fortis Bank before moving to Inspired and taking up the role of Finance Controller, then moving on to become the Operations Director. At Inspired I look after finance and operations, making sure everybody has what they need and that all our systems are running at an optimum. I will be happy to help should you have any queries relating to invoices, advertising, HR, IT and general office equipment. I also manage the website and am the technical go-to person for the company. I grew up in Cape Town, South Africa before relocating to the UK in 2004. In my spare time I enjoy exercising and spending time with friends and family in the great outdoors.

Abigail Barclay Search Director

I am the Search Director at Inspired Search & Selection and based in the London office. With over four years’ experience in publishing recruitment at Inspired, most recently as the Associate Director, I am now heading up the Executive Search division to focus on and develop senior level headhunting. Prior to publishing recruitment, I have a background in professional services and data analysis which has informed my current approach to Search which is driven by market and business intelligence. When I’m not in the office, at a publishing event or out meeting publishing people, I can be found taking country walks, at the theatre or trying out London’s vegetarian dining options.

Helen Youngs Senior Consultant

My name is Helen and I am a Consultant at Inspired Selection focussing on roles in Trade publishing across digital and print. I am passionate about the industry and have worked with both mainstream and independent publishers, including Titan and Penguin Random House. My area of experience is in sales and publicity; I also freelanced for a small poetry press called Eyewear Publishing managing their campaigns and book launches. I like the creative and commercial side of publishing and this is evident through my career path so far. I was Chair of the Society of Young Publishers in 2014 after working on their events team for two years and I am still waving the SYP flag. I relish connecting the right candidates with our clients and building on my network of contacts in the industry. I am a vivacious bibliophile with a love of the arts and sunny people.

Jennie Hooper Senior Consultant

Hi, I’m Jennie and I am the Senior Consultant for Inspired Selection London. I focus on the temp market across the publishing industry, covering all sectors from Academic, Education, Trade, STM and Professional. I bring 17 successful years of recruitment experience to Inspired, 14 of which has been running an extremely busy temp desk within social care and medical. I am a bubbly individual who loves nothing more than socialising and networking. I find the publishing world fascinating and I am excited to be a part of the industry.

Chloe Rhys Consultant

Hi! I’m Chloe and I am the Junior Recruitment Consultant here at Inspired Selection. I focus on entry-level positions across the Publishing industry. I recently graduated from the University of Southampton with a degree in English Literature and a keen interest in the Publishing industry, so I find it very rewarding to help people get their first roles in the industry. Outside of work, I can usually be found running, feverishly trying to get through my ever-growing reading list or experimenting in the kitchen.

Chloe Daniell Consultant - Temps

I’m Chloe Daniell and I joined Inspired Selection in December 2016 to manage and grow the Temps desk. Since launching this in April 2016, the service has proved to be very popular and so my aim will be to continue this growth and build a team of Temp Recruiters in 2017. I am based in the London office and come to Inspired after having had previous success in building a brand new Temps Desk within the Social Care Sector. When I’m not in the office I can be found catching up with friends and family, taking on challenges to raise money for a number of different charities, like a 175 mile Cycle to Paris, Skydiving, 10K runs and much more.

Joseph Lambert Resourcer

My name is Joseph Lambert and I am a Resourcer here at the Inspired Selection London office. I have a keen interest in the Publishing industry, and am always looking to meet new and enthusiastic people. In addition to this I have a background in education, having worked in a variety of roles within secondary education as a Teacher. I graduated with an undergraduate degree in History from Royal Holloway, University of London, and have recently finished a postgraduate degree in American Studies from The University of Kent. Away from work I enjoy long-distance hiking, working on a varied selection of writing projects and of course reading as many books as possible!
